WiQuest has launched a new chipset that will deliver Wireless Digital Video (WiDV) from the compatible sources.

The new chipset named WQST100/101 will deliver wireless transmission of high quality digital video for PC and HDTV applications.

The technology was developed to tackle the requirements of video transmission using Ultrawideband wireless connections. The technology was based on the company’s breakthrough 1Gbps data rate.

Dr. Matthew B. Shoemake, WiQuest founder, CEO and President commented that:

‘WiDV Technology makes the wireless office a reality. Not only are USB cables being replaced by Wireless USB, but true mobility is being realized with the replacement of video cables by WiDV.’

The new chipset will be the industry’s first commercially available UWB chip delivering highly efficient wireless communication of digital video at 1Gbps.
