The only supplier of phone services on commercial planes, United Airlines, announced that the company is allowing for various communications plans after the announcement of Oak Brook-based Verizon Airfone that it will stop providing in-flight phone service.
The airline begins with 757 aircraft with Wi-Fi hardware. They are planning to extend this plan in all planes. Since no telecommunication companies are offering Wi-Fi service in domestic flights, so this service would not be able to provide for some time.
