Sprint Nextal has signed an agreement with world’s largest mobile maker Nokia to provide WiMAX 4G network in its mobile handsets.

According to the agreement, Nokia will provide WiMAX network infrastructure with Flexi WiMAX base transceiver stations to Sprint. Nokia will not only develop but also market the WiMAX-enabled mobile phones. Nokia and Sprint will develop and improve mobile services for mobile phone user.

Sprint has already signed an agreement with Intel, Samsung and Motorola to develop network infrastructure and improve devices facilitating high bandwidth mobile Internet connectivity. The company is already offering various wireless and wireline communications services for various customers from business users to government users. The company has developed innovative technologies, including two robust wireless networks, which is serving more than 51 million customers.

According to the President and CEO of Nokia, Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, Nokia will provide innovative mobile broadband services to connect people under Sprint’s leadership.
