Scotland has come up with a really practical innovation. The Scots are soon going to have solar-powered streetlamps that will also provide free WiFi or MiMax connections.
The Abertay Center for the Environment (ACE) at University of Abertay in Dundee, Scotland, is working on this project with a company called Compliance Technology. Together they will build these streetlamps using Photovoltaic technology.
Called Project Starsight, experts from ACE and students from the University will be the first to try it out during a pilot scheme.
