A number of places in the UK have claimed to be giving free wireless connections for the community to boost up Internet usage, but only Norfolk has it up and running.
Norfolk is presently running an eight-week-old experiment, which is being funded by a £1.1 m grant from the East of England Development Agency; this experiment is presently centered on Norwich but will soon make it way to 22 other villages.
Norfolk council has claimed that there are already 1,000 connections per day and the figure is only going to rise in the near future.
With this concept taking much air, no one will need a Internet service provider except for premium Services like spam filtering, all this because the web based E-mail and Internet access will be free and will be available to all. Moreover, there will be no need for mobile phones, as these calls will be directly routed through the internet provided the recipient also uses the same service.
Now I can say that I have seen the future of Wi-Fi and it is FREE...
