Google has come out with a proposal of a free citywide WiFi network for the Mountain View area. But it is subject to the condition of approval by Mountain View city council.

As per the given plan more than 400 transmitters and relay boxes are expected to installed on the city’s light posts.

If this happens it will reduce the digital gap between have’s and have not.

The company was in the limelight for a similar free wifi network in San Francisco.

It is being said that it had handed over a 50 page proposal to the Mayor the purpose.

It needs to be seen when this is going to be set up and what will be source of revenues to the company.
