Wireless Internet access is now free at Kansas City International Airport (KCI).
KCI is offering the Wi-Fi from 2003 and charging a $9.95 a day. This money is going to Sprint Nextel Corp., who has installed and operated the Wi-Fi system.
The contract, which is going to expire this year, has transferred the ownership of the Wi-Fi equipment to the airport.
According to Mark VanLoh, the Aviation Director, the airport is offering this service as a customer service.
According KCI, the airport will pay a operating cost $800 per month.
