Seven of the world leaders in Electronics market have made a consortium and are working on a technology to make the HDTVs wireless. This means that they will free the TVs from the tangles of cables, which connect the TV to cable or satellite boxes.
The consortium includes companies like LG Electronics, Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., NEC Corp, Samsung Electronics Co., Sony Corp., Toshiba Corp. and SiBEAM Inc.
Industrial analysts have predicted that the first prototype of such a device can only be made available in 2008.
The main format of the technology is designed to work within a range of 32-feet and within the same room using a 60GHz radio frequency band. The transmitted HD video will not be digitally compressed so the users can enjoy high quality images same as they see using a wired connection.
The full details of the technology have not yet been released but the technology will be cheap enough so that everyone can afford it...
