In its latest report, analyst firm Infonetics Research claims that the demand for cellular and WiFi phones have increased tremendously from 2005 onwards and in the coming days, the selling of these phones will touch sky high.

In the year 2006, the worldwide WiFi phone sales crossed $535 million. In percentile value, it is almost 327 percent up from 2005, while mobile phone sales crossed $115 billion last year, an increase of 13 percent from 2005.

The demand for WiFi phones would increase due to fall in prices from now onwards. In the next four years, shipments for mobile handsets are expected to rise by 26 percent and WiFi handsets to increase nearly 1300 percent.

Richard Webb of Infonetics Research says,

Users are demanding single number/single device services, and operators like T-Mobile announced converged services based on Unlicensed Mobile Access (UMA) in 2006.

The manufactures who produce WiFi phones for VoIP customers will get favorable market for their devices. According to Infonetics Research report, WiFi VoIP phones will witness compound annual growth of 198% between 2006 and 2010.
