Japanese scientists in Human-Computer Interaction Design at Keio University, Media Design, Okude Lab in Japan, recently came up with the development of an umbrella for viewing Google Earth. The umbrella, which is integrated with a GPS, computer, Wi-Fi, and a projector incorporated in the handle, enables you to travel around places and have a view at your location on a handheld dome with Google Earth.
Not only this, it is also claimed that the state-of-the-art umbrella also gives protection against the rain simultaneously. But here I cannot say anything whether the devices are water-resistant or shock proof. You are also enabled to make use of the umbrella to show photo slideshows with a trouble-free twist of the handle. You can also get still images and video, plus are also able to simply upload them to social networking sites such as Flickr and YouTube right after taking images and video.
I am really happy to see such a groundbreaking experiment with technology. May be it is not practical, but yet this is an attention-grabbing idea to lay bare - above all the using of a handy dome in the form of a low-cost every day object. So, now have the benefit of your Internet connectivity not just in your cell phones, watches but also in your Umbrella.Electrifying isn’t?
