A smartphone will now allow employees secure VoIP calls over WiFi and GPRS and thus endow them with a single phone number for inside office usage as well as out of it. Japanese network giant Allied Telesyn has launched this product line which will enable wireless IP connectivity in the enterprise, wireless service provider and public transport markets.
Voice as well as data traffic is suitable because of fast handover. The company earlier has offered Windows Mobile Software but this time it’s a Symbian version which has the ability to turn mobile phone into a VoIP handset In case of WiFi unavailability (but when GPRS is on) it can use lightweight routing technology which is called TenQ.
