A recent report from Security in Wireless Networks from Spain based Panda Software finds out that approximately 60% of WiFi networks do not have a security protection. The study has found out serious deficiencies in main. These networks the study says are vulnerable to intruders or hackers as they do not need any intermediaries. Add to that the risk of adding all types of malicious code in to the network.
The ‘wardriving’ survey which checked the accessibility of WiFi networks has driven around with normal laptop computers, ran available software freely and detected WiFi networks which can be detected by simply click of a mouse.
The survey says that even the dependable and believed to be more critical WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) also not truly faultless.
